When one is one of two having use of vehicle & one checks level of engine lubricating liquid & notices that implement to complete said task is noticeable absent one has to find an alternative method of elucidation re level of said lubrication liquid.

I bought three for mine before I realised the reason they weren't reaching the oil was that the oil needed topping up. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

My first road worthy series one used to show a flickering oil warning light on tick-over if pushed really hard and hot.

I once lost the dipstick of a bobcat style digger, the handle was on but the shaft disappeared presumable into the engine, ran ok but I sold it immediately on ebay just incase
