LR have never replaced brake hoses on any of my FL when they have gone in for 6 yr service, they have always said its an extra item on top of the standard service costs... even though its on the service sheet

I think the truth is Bob , they get replaced when the MOT tester says they are a fail . If you are replacing them , go for the life time option . braided with stainless fittings . I put them on every bike I owned . They must be available for cars ? 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

I bought some braided Goodridge lines about a year ago but a little concerned about the process in fitting them onto the 2011

Fitted a set to my disco when it was about 11. All came apart easily enough. Make sure you have a good quality crows foot spanner. Don't try with a normal open ender or you may struggle. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I’ve been in the trade for 45 years and I’ve never changed a brake hose unless it was showing signs of perishing. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

As Steve says, I'd only change them if starting to perish or badly corroded on the fittings, unless of course they happen to be leaking 😀 (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

My neighbour has a Y reg (2000) Audi and just failed its MOT on a perished front brake hose. Apparently the other one was OK. So that's 18 years and 105k miles and the car lives outside and we live near the sea too. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Looks like the 6 year change can be ignored then and be based on wear and tear.

I have changed then years ago when in the trade as they needed it but back then many components failed quite quickly. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
