Australia 2009 Freelander 2 i6 HSE Auto Santorini Black
Just bought FL2

We just bought a '09 FL2 today, we get it next week. Traded in my BMW 130i, having a baby in couple of months and wanted something easier for wife to use.

We got the Si6, Automatic, HSE, Santorini Black (metallic paint), Premium Kit, Side Steps, Floor Mats, Ebony Interior for $61,000 on road (good/bad ?). We also got three years free service and roadside assistance as the company I work for qualified for corporate.

I am going to replace the stereo with either the double-din Kenwood (7" touchscreen) solution or a car-pc (Azentek or Gizmosis), haven't decided. I've read the discussions about the Kenwood solution. Has anyone done the car-pc option?

Welcome mate! Great choice in model. Basically the same as mine apart from the side steps.

Hope you enjoy the car on an off road. Just be careful with the leather seats and baby seats. It can rub and cut in.

Post pics when you get it.

Also good price. Pretty much what i paid, but i got a towbar instead of steps.

Dorko,

From your comment would I be correct in thinking you had a baby seat in yours? If so, did you have a problem finding a seat that fit correctly? I've seen several posts in the forum about baby seats not fitting right.

Very much looking forward to receiving FL2 next week.

My baby seat fits ok, no problems at all. If you haven't bought the baby seat yet, just take your car to one of those shops and try to fit the one you like to the car and see if it fits ok.

Yeah i had my mates baby in the car down south, instead of taking two cars to the brewerys. But installing his baby seat was SUPER easy. A clip goes on the back then you tighted the strap, put the seat belt through the back of the baby seat and its locks all in place without moving around. Kinda the same as CG has his picture minus the leg from under neath. He must a heavy baby of something! Laughing

But as you would have full leather like me, put a towel underneath to prevent it cutting into the leather.

also never place any car seat down on concrete or similar as the scuffs will wear the leather away too Exclamation Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Appreciate all the feedback, first FL2 and first baby. Very Happy

I think my first mod will be installing LEDs inside the FL2. I'll post photos etc. once the two different orders arrive, from ULTRALEDS.CO.UK and PRISMALED.COM.AU. Replacing the boot and dome lights first.

I put an led in the rear dome light but Mrs G turns it off as it wakes the baby when she opens the door, Wink I'm sure the extra light will be usefull on the next seat when we have to strap the wriggly little swine in Laughing At work

Just because I am getting a Freelander doesn't mean I have to get a baby does it?
