Rattle

Hi,

I am away with the car which has developed a rattle low down in the central dashboard area near the gear stick. Not sure of the exact position but believe that this is the probable area. The rattle started sometime ago but was very intermittent only occurring when going over a bump or pothole, however has now become much more frequent. It sounds very metallic.

Can anyone please suggest what to look at have given quick look inside car but cannot find anything obvious.

Thanks
Dave

Most probably an exhaust heat shield has become loose. Understeer when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower how fast you hit the wall.
Torque how far you take the wall with you.

As above, more than likely the mid section heat shield - Mine had a stone in it which required removal & refit. Made a really tinny sound, very annoying. FL2 Ex D2, D3, RRS, etc. now all gone.

Hi,

Thanks to everyone for their help and advise. Have now had the chance to investigate and whilst not finding any specific problems I appear to have cured the problems by tightening up the nut behind the repeater lamp and taking of the heat shield, straightening it and refitting with larger washers.

Peace has now returned. Thanks to all.

Dave
