Any advice re Track Rod End replacements

Whilst I await prices from our sponsors I thought I'd ask - anyone replaced the Track Rod Ends on facelift 2013MY?
If so any advice or help to offer?
Done them on other cars just wondered if there is anything special/awkward about the FL2?
Thanks No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

I haven't had to replace a track rod end since the 80's. It used to be a common MOT failure and I even bought a proper ball joint splitter as I was doing one or two a year on the family cars. Usual cause was rubber seals fail and grit gets in there but seals must have improved a lot. Do you think yours are going? Seems a bit early on a 13 plate. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Got an advisory on MOT for slight wear on O/s so just gathering bits and onfo to replace them when the weather improves - looks straightforward bit just thought someone might have a talr to tell. No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

Did you notice any 'vaugeness' in the steering? My 64 plate with 76k on it is feeling a tiny bit sloppy in corners and I'm wondering if it's ball joints/ track rod ends etc.

I think i imagined movement rather than really experienced it Shocked

I sourced a pair from Euro car parts for less than £25 as against their RRP of £170
will fit them when the weather improves No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

I found nothing different than any other car to be fair. Splitter, hammer and the right spanners. Ho yes and a nice day if you have to be outside

Well the weather finally allowed me a space to get the new track rod ends fitted.

Straightforward job with no problems that WD40 and a long bar and socket couldn't solve - took about an hour to do both sides.

On the test drive afterwards the steering was noticeably tighter and more positive in corners - so I guess there must have been some creeping "vagueness" in there after all.

Ah well onward and upward Whistle No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS
