United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Tonga Green

Thanks, will check in the morning!

In the meantime I was trying to look up the accurate shade of leather and saw the Topix website recommended, using the VIN.. 2 questions-

It doesn’t list anything on the interior so where could I check about the leather colour? (the cubby boxes come in Alpaca or Almond leather)..

When I put my VIN details in, it states my car is a colour ‘Izmir Blue’ - should I be worried?

Are you sure that’s Tonga Green? It looks like Kosrae Green in the photos (my first FL2 and still my favourite green Thumbs Up )

If your planning on using it off road, see if you get your hands on a either anew old stock, or good used, Mantec bash plate and Mantec tank guard. Unfortunately no longer made, but well worth it and they really look the part!

Spot on with the colour- found the paint ref- it’s Kosrae Smile

I have been looking at some of the covers on here:

https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId...eat+covers

Not sure if they are as good as some of them look mind, so if anyone has tried them let me know. Theres a few there with lumbar support. My FL2 has lumbar support though.

Don't want to put a damper on it but be aware of the 2011 model hesitation problems which don't show up at this time of year as it's too cold but can show up in warmer weather. LR never found a cure for it and probably never will now. It's all on the forum. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

@dorsetfreelander, I had the engine management light come on and limp mode for about a week shortly after I bought the vehicle, but luckily was only the DPF sensor (or one of) that needed replacing.. thankfully have a 3months warranty which covered that, but wasn’t a great experience after buying what I’ve always considered a trustworthy vehicle!

So, I’ve read up on the issue you mention and can now see lots of issues that may occur so I’m quietly stopping reading it all and just crossing my fingers that I won’t experience any more problems!! 🙈

Hi,
You are going to read all the problems (and fixes) on this forum, and any other where owners meet to discuss their cars. It doesnt follow that your car will suffer all these issues. Consider the hundreds of thousands of Freelanders running around with out these problems and their owners who are not posting problems. I guarantee just about any car which has an active forum will have posts describing horror stories which would make you think twice about buying one! The Fl2 is often described as Landrover's most reliable product and I hope you continue to enjoy yours. (Love the colour of yours BTW).
The benefit of a resource like this is that people have had the issues have either fixed it themselves and provided handy guides to enable other owners to do so or been able to diagnose faults and sourcing parts for a garage to fix more economically.

As said above!

I have had a similar set of problems as I had on my previous Seat Ibiza, fortunately both cars were still under warranty. It's a car you get some problems & you simply need to budget for them which I am doing now as the car is out of warranty. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Completely agree with these three. Just got my FL2 less than a month ago and loving it, used this forum to be aware of any pitfalls with the vehicle, and fixes. I've got an MY2003 Volvo V70 D5 that I've had from new and a 2004 Nissan Terrano 2 3l that I've had for a few years. I got the FL2 on the basis that I would keep it long term and it will eventually replace both the other vehicles.

Reason for my post is that I'm an active member on both Volvo and Nissan 4x4 forums and whilst I've contributed a fair amount I've got a lot more out. I'm now reading all three forums on a daily basis and continue to enjoy building up a more in depth knowledge of the cars I own.

Cheers,

Mick
