Phonebook

Before anyone suggests searching, I've tried, but cannot find any specific threads.
When I first got the car I linked up my iPhone6 but not my phone book as there's loads of numbers on the mobile I'd never call from the car and vice versa. I thought I'd be able to individually input the few numbers that I'm ever likely to need but can't see how, unless I'm missing something very basic in the set up? Phone book naturally comes up empty and there doesn't seem to be an option to save a dialled number.
Is it a case that I delete my phone, link up the entire phone book and then if possible, delete the numbers I'll never call?
Apart from there being no phone book, the phone seems to be working in all other respects

Which year car - older ones need the Bluetooth module updated as they do not connect to newer phones.

I had this issue with my MY2008 connecting to my iPhone6

Anyone have any thoughts on this - otherwise might try disconnecting phone from the car and reassigning it. Easy enough, just thought I may have been overlooking something basic in the first place

Dailed, received and missed calls are saved “The Last Ten”
From phone menu, “Last 10” softkey.
From “Last 10” submenu you can select any of the last 10 dialed, received or missed numbers.
Or
Voice command, “Last 10 dialed”
Say “line” dial.
Both instances you can dial directly.

So if you use very few numbers, regularly, they will always be there. MY15

Thanks for that - it looks as if I'll just have to dial up the numbers I'm likely to use most and then in future simply select them from the last 10 dialled call list.
Surprised there's no other way to create a phone book of most popular numbers Neutral

The system is designed to sync with your phone.

In a previous life I could remember 300 regular customers' phone numbers, & an additional 300 with a touch of thinking.

The funny thing was if someone actually asked their number I couldn't really remember, but if I picked up the handset & dialed in the number it simply came out of my fingers without even thinking about it!

These days I can't even remember my sister's phone number which she has had for a decade, even if I was tortured I doubt I could recall it!.......... No, can't recall it! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
