This business about not telling your insurance unless you actually make a claim reminded me that last year when I was changing my FL2 I went to a Hyundai dealer who printed out something which showed that my car reg had been searched for on some DVLA /insurance database (not sure what it was) quite a number of times and he asked why was this the case? I hadn't been in any accident and the only thing I could think of was that a couple of years earlier we had hit a deer and discussed it with the insurer but not claimed and also that I had shopped around for insurance and made a few changes to family members etc. Bit scary though about what they know about you.
PS it was one of the many reasons I walked away from a Hyundai Tucson. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

England 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Stornoway Grey

I hit a deer at around 40mph a couple of years back. It rolled under the front and stayed there for about 50m before coming out the back. When safe to stop I looked at the FL and was relieved to see most of the damage was superficial, so drove on. Later that day I started losing power and smoke out the exhaust. Turned out that the bumper had crumpled into the radiators before springing back into shape. Both radiators pushed back and destroyed. Intercooler pipes split. And so on.
That was an insurance claim. Strangely it did not affect my premium.
I feel fortunate that it was a FL and not a normal car as the deer would probably have joined me on the front seat!

Wow! Well spotted! I’ll give them a ring on Monday and see if it is still lying around. I’m just so relieved to get it back, that I would probably not have noticed if half the front was missing! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

My cover has one of the 2 fixing clips missing currently so if you end up with them having to get you a new cover due to damage and old cover is around can you get me a clip off it please. 👍 FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Got my towing eye cover re-fixed. The garage still had the original, so I’m afraid there are no spare clips to send to you, YB. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto
