Aftermarket seat heaters

Hi All,
Wondering if anyone has fitted any type of seat heating kit?
Lots available on ebay and seem easy to fit
I'm missing the warmth I had from them in my last car and leather is really cold!! 2008 GS manual Santorini Black

I have fitted a few sets of the ebay heating kits to previous cars and they are fairly straight forward to fit but do take a bit of time to do correctly. You really need to remove the seats from the car to be able to get all the plastic trim off to let you get access to remove (at least partly) the seat covers in order to fit the heating pads.
You have to take proper precations as the seats have airbags so you have to disconnect the battery and leave for at least 15mins before disconnectiong any wiring to seats or seatbelt tensioners. Power for the heaters can be taken from the accessory socket so that part is fairly simple.A bit more involved would be getting the original seated seat switches and wiring them up to work the aftermarket kits. Failing that I would mount the little rocker switches in a discreet place on the plastic trim surrounding the seats.
There are plently of kits on Ebay, buy the ones that have carbon fibre heating pads because they can be cut to size so you get a better fitting kit as is it is important that the pad fits neatly otherwise you can feel wrinkles in the pad when you are sitting on the seat. Thumbs Up

Seriously, heated seats are nice to have, but personally I wouldn't go to all that bother if I didn't have them.
They're not that important to me. Wink FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

Have put seat heaters in front seats using carbon fibre mats . You can cut them to size.
You will definitely have to take seats out and remove existing covers. Covers are held in place with Hog Rings, which will need removing. You will need Hog Ring Pliers along with a pack of new rings(Amazon or Ebay) to refit covers.
Originally did mine with cloth seats but since changed to leather. Good idea to use steamer on seat bolsters as it brings them back to life.
Takes a good day to do.
