Service by non LR garage

Has anyone had problems with warranty issues after having their car serviced by a non Land rover service garage?

Land rover charge so much so I am thinking of using a garage that I know I can trust to do the work but is not a land rover service centre.

P.S The garage will use genuine land rover parts for the service.

This has been discussed on here before but can't find the thread at the moment.

Basically you can have your car serviced at any garage you like and it won't affect the warranty as long as it is serviced in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.

Not too sure about the bpdywork though, someone else will certainly expand on this I'm sure. Thumbs Up

EDIT:

Found it but don't know how to post the link here Rolling Eyes

For the record, I got mine serviced at a local LR specialist, Nene Overland, and have taken it back to the dealer at least twice. Once for an oil seal replacement, which took 3 days of work, involved removing the engine, and I had a Disco3 for 5 days whislt they did it. Not once did they mention servicing.

Just make sure you pick a garage that is allowed to do the servicing, without voiding your warranty (which I think is most)

I had my FL1 serviced by a friend for the 4 years I owned it. During that Time I had numerous work carried out under warranty without a problem. Very Happy

I asked the dealer about the bodywork warranty if I went to an independent for a service and was told that the bodywork warranty could only be done at an LR dealer and the cost for the bodywork check would be £55

Thanks to all for the replies.

Bodywork seems to be the main concern, they always manage to get you one way or another Twisted Evil

Mind you I intend to keep the car for a few years so perhaps I will forget the bodywork scam I mean scan as that is all it will be, and If I ever need to have any work carried out all of those pounds saved should cover it.

Never needed any bodywork repairs on my previous cars so I think I will take the risk.
