Quite a nice collection of badges in that 2nd pic... where did you get the rectangular ones 2nd from the bottom? Did they have pins on the back side?

The rectangle ones are for a D4 they are just a very thin rectangle shell. The larger ones in my hand are from a 2016 Jaguar XJ. I’ll dig up the part number tomorrow morning for it. To some extent I am surprised you can even buy the badges at all. I am a bit of a Stratocaster nut and Fender guard their badges with some extreme dilligence. Quite rightly so as some less scrupulous sorts will put a high quality badge on a low quality product which both rips off the unsuspecting customer and devalues the original product if the poor sucker doesn't realise they have been sold a cheap copy. Surely a Meridian (or Alpine! or what ever) system will have the appropriate badges already so why do you need to buy some more? If they have become damaged and fallen off well, I'm afraid, that is just hard luck, you should have looked after them better. |

I’d be more worried about people changing a GS badge to an XS or HSE badge. If that’s the case they should stop selling replacement model badges also. Then you would have to forbid people from upgrading alloys wheels to a higher spec level. Once you look at the audio or even go into the menu you’ll know if it’s a meridian or not. More importantly when you put it on you’ll know if you have a 80W Land Rover stereo or not. The rear doors and boot speakers never came with any badging. I think I would be more inclined to debadge a high spec. It doesn't matter to me what other people think, I know what I have. With regard to badging up speakers that don't have badges, surely those in the know who might be impressed would know the rear speakers shouldn't have badges and might then question if the whole system is really Meridian or not? |
