I’ve just joined this forum after a year of buying my 63 plate freelander 2 2.2 SD4.
I really need your help people!!!
I need a front end full bra to protect my immaculate and well cared for paintwork.
I am driving from London to the Highlands and back at the end of March 18. Literally three weeks away.
The only problem is that the only company I found (autobra) have said it takes 4-6 weeks as they are made in Turkey.
I am reaching out for any possible suppliers that you may know of, or to anyone who has one for sale, or indeed to rent????
Please help!!!!!!

Sod’s law you will protect one thing and get stuffed another way. No idea what a car bra is by the way but a few gals have stuffed the odd bra if you get my drift. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Do what LR employees do when taking LR pre-production vehicles off site .........

Wrap your paint work front grille and bonnet leading edge in 'industrial grade cling film'

This will reduce the impact of any stone chips.

If you go green laning, wrap the whole lower body in that cling film, remembering to keep the drivers window down, as this becomes your entry and exit point for the vehicle. several wraps of cling film will protect the body from branch scratches.

Personally I'd stay well clear of these bras. They can do far more damage to your paintwork than you are trying to prevent and it doesn't take long either if the conditions are right. They trap moisture against the paint if it's rained/raining , and sweat in hot weather, again trapping moisture , causing the paint lacquer to become opaque. They also trap dirt and debris which can scratch the paint surface too. Ask me how I know ...........

These people in AU do a really good job but may not meet your urgency criteria.
I plan on getting one as in AU Stone, bug and general debris do lots of damage to the front of the vehicle.
I did a trip from east coast of Australia to West Coast, over 5k and bra and headlight covers payed for themselves many times over. Cheaper than a headlight replacement. MY15

I’ve never worn a bra and don’t intend to start now, but for Highland roads, I would reckon it’s your windscreen that is at most risk. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

If you want to preserve your vehicle here in AU on long journeys then a Carbra and one of these are not uncommon. MY15

A possible alternative to the soft bra is this. see Ebay item no eBay Item No. 331854946205. LR NUT has one on his car so check his albums for photos of it in place. He might also be able to recommend or not!

I bought a can of Fuji White touch up paint (use a fine paint brush & don't spray the paint chips). Haven't needed it for paint chips yet even though we were on a lot of shocking roads. Some cars you could see would not slow down on these outback gravel roads so I stopped & pulled over. Others slowed down like me & you got a wave to say thank you!

If they don't slow down enough, simply stop yourself, you will not loose much time to your destination. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
