pushed up the blue cap to fill it up,heard a click,blue cap fell off,fell down below,resting where the washer neck goes in to metal and disappears, behine headlight,got to it with a knitting needle.but wedged it further down and cant see it now all the cars ive had in passed they have had the cap welded to the rim of the washer bottle, buy way of a hinge,to stop this happening.will see if i cant order a cap at dealers. Current: Freelander 2 GS, Orkney Grey, Factory fit privacy glass, design pack and Clearview pack. I had to use one of those flexy grab claw thingies to get mine and the more you tried the further down it went.

Same thing to me. I found the washer filler cap on top of the sump guard the next day.

Just popped by having left FL2 when I bought my RRS. Ahh you have brought back so many memories of the little blue thing that flies so well and then poof, its gone. This is what I did once I got a replacment (from the parts depo and not the forecourt!

When it happened to me, I ended up stripping the inner arch of its covers to retreive it.

Posted this into another thread too, but a pity I didnt read these posts before I went and lost mine! Haha

However, I've just done the same, opened it up and instead of falling right or forward where it would have probably been retrievable, it went left and down. Right into the engine bay. I did see it to which I tried to grab it again, but lost it like one of those arm grabbing machines at the fun show's. It went further down to the point I couldn't see it so it's lost in there somewhere! I'm not away to open the arches and remove parts of the car to get a few quids worth of plastic cap. I'll be more careful next time!

Should the lid fit securely over the top of the bottle as mine fits over the mesh filter inside but wont fit on the bottle? it stays open
