Only special tools if you can call them that were... 1x Extendable jaw grips for the spring type jubilee around air pipes or mole grips on their widest setting will clamp them enough if you put them on the spring tabs and then tighten as much as you can before clamping the handles together... 1x Long reach 8mm socket for the glow plugs...I soaked them in Penetrating fluid for a couple of hours before I took them out. Applied firm pressure and just slowly increased and they all came out fine. 2x Charcoal hand warmer burners to keep me toasty as I did it Thursday/Friday as it failed to start. I will add pictures off the Grips. I would like to add that the difference was enormous. It wouldn't start with easy start as well as an extra battery before in -0 temps, drained the battery to slow cranking speed before I stopped. Did the work and didn't get a chance to charge the battery and once it was back together I thought I'll just try it...ignition on, Glow plug light came on for 3-5 seconds, engine cranked maybe three times and fired up in what was then minus 4 plus the howling wind... . Quite happy to help anyone to do the work here as it gets warmer if you need some reassurance. |

My wife's old Dad had a belief that you should never use "Easy Start" on tractors as the engine gets a liking for it and once they get hooked on it they won't ever start normally. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
