Is this the same CTEK charger others have? There seems to be several different titles for the same 5amp product. Price seems to vary up to double too.

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 S Manual Aintree Green

Hi hippo, I have this charger for my other car ( s type) and it's a good bit of kit, I fitted the quick fittings onto the battery and it means when I put the car away its a simple job to connect it back up, definately worth having.

I too have the MXS-5 and am very happy with it. I use it to keep the two cars in the house charged.

I got mine as a free gift with a magazine subscription . Use it for keeping the mini charged over winter in the garage and also for topping up the caravan leisure battery. Good bit of kit. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Is the caravan home made or purchased?

Got a ctek on order. Price seemed to vary so much I thought there was more than one variant of the 5amp version. Perhaps not. Hippo's videos - Honorary Tratterer

Home made, had it for years. Has three slide-outs .... like the RV trucks.

Everyone using a charger, how old is your car battery?

I replace the battery every 4 years & never worry about being stuck anywhere.

I put a new battery in the car for my recent outback trip as I do not want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere in +40°C heat (47°C one day)!

I get the trickle charge when usage is low but I also am in the camp of why would you hang onto a battery to the point of failure as that outcome is not cost effective. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
