Hi guys is there a way to find out what exact audio system I have I know it’s a meridian I have a speaker in the boot and in the back pillars if that helps I have a 62 plate but the guy said it’s more a 13 spec. Was also told that it had dab and only to find out when I got it home that it didn’t it has the things in the back side windows for it Any help on this would be very much appreciated thanks

If you have the facelifted interior (full LCD display on the dash for fuel and temp etc) and an old fashioned analogue clock (with hands) under the sat nav screen, and you have buttons for the terrain response behind the gear lever instead of the old dial in front of the lever..... then you have the 2013 model year.

If you have the old traditional style temp and fuel gauges with a big green screen between the speedo and rev counter, with a silver dial for terrain response, then you have a 2012 model year.

the 2013 sound systems for the cars with Sat Nav (which your dynamic should have) were all Meridian (says so on the door speakers ) and were either 385W or in the HSE up they are 825W 13:1 surround systems, both are separate screens built in with the sat nav screen and both should come with DAB.

the 2012 and older systems were Alpine (again says so on the door speakers) with lots of channel buttons and such on the fascia and its own screen. the sat nav was totally separate to the sound system.

Don’t understand if you get the premium version you would think I would get the dab. Here are some pictures if this helps

ok so you definitely have a MY13 with Meridian 325w sound system. However im very surprised it doesn't have the DAB function on there as I thought all LR/RR Meridian systems had them (my 325w Meridian in my Pure spec Evoque had DAB as standard)

I think you would need to check your specific build spec to see if the cabling is there to the DAB antennae so you may just need a DAB hardware module and software edit.

StuartC on here is probably your best bet to ask whats required as he has ripped his FL2 apart investigating all sorts of upgrades and options.

My 13 model year GS has DAB with the basic spec audio.

So you should get DAB. I have found that DAB is sporadic around Glasgow when visiting in
various cars.

Not using my DAB in Gods Own as its crap. Maybe Ok in the centre of Leeds but up in the Wolds or Moors forget it. FM surely can't be that wore can it ? FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

To be honest I hate the fact that I got sold something I don’t have and trying to find out as much information so I can go back to my LR dealer to get what I paid for and I like dab over fm 👍🏼

My dab is fine all over Yorkshire for last 5 years. Just stays on BBC radio 6. Even works when I venture outside Yorkshire!

Do you have the same unit as me?

on the home screen, when you touch on the audio box, you should get a list of input options down the left hand side of the screen.
Radio, DAB, My Music+, Video........

if you don't get the DAB option on the that Meridian system then it says to me that there is a fault.

Could it be that the DAB module has failed so the head unit doesn't think its fitted and so doesn't display the option ?

Either way, you should have DAB with a Dynamic.
