Finally got it.............

Well 3 weeks after buying it online i finally got to pick it up yesterday - was it worth it? well i guess so but it's not as i hoped but i'll get it to a point i'm happy with

There are a couple of issues which need sorting -

1, 3 tyres very near wear markers so will get a matching set fitted by next weekend (1 also had a slow puncture but luckily the spare is a matching alloy with a just legal tyre so fitted that for now)

2, The lower part of the front grille has the same problem some others on here have been posting about recently - looks like laquer peel - not sure what to do about this yet (maybe repaint?)

3, Spent a couple of hours yesterday with the Tardis as all the bottom half was covered in tar spots - come up better but the whole car needs claying and a good wax/ sealant (have a week off end of march so might wait till then?)

4, Gave the seats + steering wheel a going over with Gliptone leather cleaner and conditioner - with the seat centres being light they need another going over

Managed to do the edges such as inside door shuts, tailgate shut, removed rear lights to clean around the edges (yep i'm picky), cleaned under bonnet Embarassed , cleaned inside of glass and that was my day well spent

I have some gloss black bonnet and tailgate lettering to fit and also some black/ chrome wheels centres (when tyres are swapped), and i'm deciding on either sidesteps like i fitted to my previous FL or side tubes (stailnless or powdercoated gloss black?)

I was also looking at the C-Tek chargers everyone keeps mentioning but there are so many different ones - which is the most common you all use?

Here are a couple of pics from today (not polished just washed/ de-tarred)

Yeah - i was worried about that before i picked it up but measure a dozen times and hoped the figures were correct giving 88mm clearance under the door Very Happy

I had a 2009 GS with the 17" wheels a few years ago which fitted under after i removed the roof rails - i prayed this with the 19"s would fit with lower profile tyres

I have zero clearance. When sitting in the car 10mm. Got to loose some weight!

If you pull up the black plastic trim on the rear bumper there is heaps of crap under there. Just make sure you push it back in properly so it does not rub paint off the bottom edge of the tailgate.

Take the nozzle of the end of the hose & stick the hose up over the plastic wheel arch liners. Plenty of crap gets in there. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

It amazes me how much dirt gets behind the rear light units on hatchbacks - all the dirt from the roof makes its way down there and gets trapped - mine are sparkling now Very Happy

Blasting the lower door plastics from above gets a lot of road dirt out

I also remove the wheels and clean the backs of the spokes/ barrells then seal with jetseal

White is the only colour that does not show the dirt!

I use the Optimate3 and 3+ on my bikes over winter. https://www.optimate.co.uk/products/optimate-3

They work fine on the Freely2 as well. Just leave it connected overnight and it'll do its job. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE
