exhaust smell, and juddering in high gear

Question:
Would a split in the turbo pipe cause exhaust fumes in the cabin + a loss of power (juddering) at low revs in high gears?

It could be the boost pipe split that causes it to do many things. grab the pipe with one hand and squeeze it at like 9and 3 then feel round the back with the other hand for a split in the pipe usually runs top to bottom direction
