A real camera. That brings back some memories. You can't beat film especially in black and white.

So Nick, have you got it yet? I’m thinking of buying the DSC-RX100 V. It’s £629 on that site compared to £949 everywhere else. Too good to be true? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto Present: Audi A3 S Line. |

Well, I’ve found a camera that I forgot I had - mainly because my daughter borrowed it, lost the charger and it’s just sat in a drawer for a couple of years. Of course the battery had gone flat. I have a multi charger but the battery had long expired and wouldn’t take a charge. Two dodgy eBay batteries later I’ve got it working and it’s a little cracker. I think I’ll practice with this for a while. It’s not a bad one either. A bit ancient but works fine. It’s a Sony DSC HX9V like this:

Many camera batteries appear dead after not being used for a long time, many go to reverse polarity, you can recover them by charging them at a higher voltage like one to two volts above the normal charge voltage not the nominal battery voltage when the charger is connected. most battery chargers for camera's and phones have an off load voltage much higher than the charging voltage to obtain the required charging current. I.E 3v battery charger, off load voltage 5v charges normally, so charge at with a 4.5v charger. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

! Too late now, I’ve binned the original Sony battery plus the duff one and it’s replacement that I got from eBay. The original must have been getting on for 7 or 8 years old now anyway. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
