Your heated screen must be good....melted all the snow here. Common sense isn't very common.

gritting here the other night looked like they had it on super spread, doing the pavements as well, never see it so thick or fast, could be using it up before the winter ends or maybe they nicked yours and hiding the evidence. Common sense isn't very common.

The red alert signals the first time the Met Office has ever issued a red alert for snow in Scotland since the modern alert system was introduced.

Angus and Donald are having a late night drink. Angus said to Donald, "this snow is so bad, you had better bed down here for the night" Donald agrees.
A little while later Angus hears a knock at the door, he opens it, and there stands Donald. "Donald, Donald come in" said Angus "what are you doing out there ?"
.......... "I went home to get my pyjamas" explained Donald.

I'm glad that the Red alert for Scotland wasn't last week or the match at Murrayfield might have been put off as it would be too cold for the southern contingent......... Rolling with laughter Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Fuji White

I have looked in vain on the telly for the sturdy 4x4s ploughing onwards through the snow.

But most 4x4s shown have been stuck on motorways surrounded by stranded lorries.

The lack of wieght over the articulated lorries driven wheels has been a problem fo years, and after each bad period of slippery weather there are promises of action to cure this and jack-knifing of the trailers, but alas soon forgotten. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Not the East Midlands but.
Southeast 4X4 Response has been deployed at various locations in Kent since Tuesday PM and still out there,
deployed by Kent Police to A249, A299, clearing stranded LGV's stuck on Detling and Bluebell hills, also running medical staff in/out of work, even recovering a coroners van from a front garden!
So they are out there. Thumbs Up ......including a number of other makes.
