I clipped a chunk of metal (I think) while travelling down the M6 (in my Jaguar - not the Freelie) which caused an instant deflation of the NS front tyre. I made it to the hard shoulder OK and called Green Flag. The mechanic who turned up happily changed the wheel for my space-saver spare. He then phoned round some local tyre shops to find one who had in stock an exact match for the tyre I had destroyed, made an appointment for me to have one fitted, and made sure I had directions to find the relevant tyre shop. Top class service. However - Green Flag operate a 'no claims discount' - so this call out cost me a small increase in premium the following year. Thanks for all the replies and info. I'm still undecided although GF look better on the deal they offer as they are cheaper than RAC the service from both looks very good.

thanks to SkyeGuy , for your comment, much appreciated, with regard to no claims discount, the price goes up every year anyway , I am on basic recovery, never yet seen it go down except in the early years, I had accrued 3 years no discount but saw that if I simply rejoined as a new member it was cheaper than paying the renewal . . . |
