Id say 75 is a reasonable price. I was quoted 180 so I didn't bother getting the lights I had lined up

Β£75 sounds like they charge for an hours work, probably standard minimum charge rate. Cheaper than Land Rover would charge and I guess it depends how much you want the xenons I suppose. Me, I'd just accept the cost is what it is and have it done, I'd only be paying for it once and it would be better than having a pair of headlights sitting in the shed

Too far away to help you but forum member Mikey did mine for Β£30 but it gives you an idea of what garages charge. It does only take a few minutes to do and I know that the equipment to do it is not cheap but yes I think Β£75 is a bit steep! Big Cry

Thanks.
Yes I think 30 - 40 is plenty for such a simple task.
Happy to travel a bit. But not looking to end up in the Midlands either πŸ‘πŸ˜…

Lol, "Simple Task" Laughing
Firstly the correct equipment is expensive and secondly setting up, scanning and if all is ok then editing is not something I would recommend you skimp on! MY15

When I put the request for a place or person to change my car file from halogen to xenon.
I was just looking for some pointers or people who could do such a task.
So far we have had one close to me. Great. But to expensive as far as I'm concerned
This is going to become a very long and tedious thread if everyone who has a opinion on price, equipment involved, hourly rate and complexity of the task chips in.
Just looking for some people who can do the task πŸ‘β˜Ί
Thanks again

Garage in Bristol did mine while I waited.
Β£20 cash from memory.
I've posted their details before I'm sure.

There appears to be a gap in the market
As it seems no one down south is doing it for sensible money 😏

Was that a pun? A GAP in the market? I bought one of their code readers and can thoroughly recommend it, so that you can do your own changes! Smile 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

Buy the tool, learn how to use it, charge sensible money and you’re in business. Thumbs Up Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Keith Gott Land Rover in Alton did mine for a nominal fee. It took 5 minutes. I had researched fully and was able to tell them what settings I needed changed as they had not done it before. I thought it was three settings but maybe just two as posted above. Read up fully on line and check your current car configuration online against your VIN number so that you know which settings to change.
