Electrical Gremlin - Freelander 2 GS

Hi All,

I've looked through hundreds of forum threads to find the answer I need, but nothing is helping. Please help if you can.

Freelander 2 2012 GS, 76,000 miles

Firstly the radio stopped working, It shows the time, lights up and when you push the power button it shows the Land Rover logo and then the DAB logo but then returns to the clock screen and nothing happens.

Secondly, 4 days later, the rear reversing beeper stopped working (reverse lights still work)

Thirdly, 2 days after that the auto close on the windows has stopped working. They will fully open on the second click, but won't shut on the second click.

I've checked all of the fuses and they are good, I've disconnected the battery for an hour in the hope for it to reset the system, but that hasn't worked (I did have to reset the clock on the radio screen). I've removed the fascia to check the wiring on the radio and that's fine. I've cleaned the parking sensors, that didn't work.

I've run out of ideas, next step is to take to a garage, but I'd love to fix it before that happens!!

The battery hasn't been replaced since we bought it 3 years ago! Will tick that off the list next.

When you have both battery leads off the battery to fit a new one hold them together for 10 minutes. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Did your window problem start after you disconnected the battery, if so they may just need to be reset.
Have you or any one else done anything in the behind glove box area? for example cabin filter, a lot of multi plugs behind there, easily knocked and dislodged and can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins
