MY13 MP3 Audio - Does not save track or position.

Hello all. Just got a freelander 2 Smile

I have the base Audio with the 5" screen.

I like to listen to mixes downloaded from you tube on MP3 format using the USB port, some are 2hrs long. However when ever i turn the engine off the stereo forgets what track and position I was, and starts at the begging of my memory stick again.

I'm guessing this is just a design flaw in the stereo, but was wondering if anyone else had noticed a similar problem? Is there any kind of firmware update that can be done to solve this?

Thanks

I think it might be a design floor in the method you are using, my car starts were i left of on my phone, onces its connected

I'm guessing a USB works differently, but when the engine is switched off it goes back to the start of the track, or source Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Interesting are you playing audio over Bluetooth? If that works more effectively I can just load up my phone.

in my 07 HSE I really miss a USB port, I do not want to pay for that TRIOMA Interface USB as its pricey, the 6 CD system even though having MP3 capability is limiting as there is no random across ALL 6 discs.

My last car I had a Sony head unit with https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-32GB-USB-2...SwHoFXwCCE

32gb mini usb plugged into it, filled with all sorts of music set at random, always picked up where it left off and managed to pick some gems out at just the right moments . . really miss that set up.
