Outstanding for a SD4 Id say. Do you drive at 50 mostly ? We average 36 mpg, occasionally seen 38mpg - never seen 40 or higher. Trouble is were either doing short local trips up and down hills or long trips up and down motorways. Once you get over 2000rpm on the motorway the MPG seems to really fall off. Jules |

i set CC AT 65 MPH on motorway then just drove sensiblewhen i got off but as you say nor much over 50mph but what helped is no traffic on the road so i wasn,t in the rat race i was able to control what i was doing but i kept up with thetraffic and nothing else and stuck to speed limits and drove safely and the MPG was amazing and i think it put 10 minutes on the journey |

Average speed on the journey was exactly the same as MPG 40.1 which to me is fast enough just the traffic on the road was the difference |

Not an FL2 but in our SD4 Evoque I had a puncture in Derbyshire and put the space saver spare on and stuck to a maximum of 50mph on the way home. I averaged something like 47mpg. On the way up I think it was around 35mpg. Speed definately makes a difference. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

If by around town you mean short commuting or urban runs , If it’s an auto you will be very, very lucky to see 30 . With the manual you might get a little more . In real life the Ford PSA Diesel engine pulling a big SUV is not something that gives a a great deal of economy . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership 2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . 44.9mpg was the best I ever saw in my SD4 albeit average was around 36 - 37 mpg. I found it more economical than the TD4 perhaps because of the slight bhp increase meaning the engine didn't have to work as hard. Not a patch on my X3 though, best I have achieved is 54.1mpg and averaging 45mpg! Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

BP, Caltex & Shell plus the odd independent, but all our fuel comes via Singapore these days so the only difference is the name on the outside of the B-Double tanker. Caltex use to supply BP or something like that up to a couple of years ago, but the last refining eventually ceased processing in Australia. It gets worse, Australia only has about 10 days of refined stock & 3 days in service stations! The international standard is 90 days of reserve for all fuels.
