xenon headlights bits into a projector halogen

I have xenon headlight and one of them is broke. It is broken at the pivot bit for light levelling. It could be superglued but I don't know if the glue would stand up to the heat and/ or bumpy roads. So I was thinking is it possible to take out wiring and xenon part and screw them in. Has anyone done it here. I am only thinking of a swap as buying a halogen head light is far cheaper then a xenon even a second hand one marto GS Sd4 2012

I have no idea what they look like, but even professional grade super glue will not last, I have used litres of the stuff over the years. Down grading to halogen I believe you will have a rude shock at the poor quality light.

Maybe you can tap some threads into the part to hold it back together & use some Loctite in the thread, in this case you are glueing the thread and not the actual part. Or better still Nyloc nuts on the other side. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

England

All the lights are fully interchangeable through the aperture, even UK to EU/US spec and vice versa. Something I looked into recently following a rock to one of my xenons

to add: (slight drilling is required to mount the ballast for a xenon If using a halogen unit).

Which side are you having issue with?

I have an O/S xenon (Metropolis spec - black reflector) with a hole in the lense but otherwise fully working.
I also have a N/S halogen (white reflector) that I bought before buying a pair of xenons.

Both signature strip (not that it matters if you're stripping the internals).

We'd have to chat in the for sale section though if interested.

Very Happy

Thanks for all the replies. I think I can fix the breakage with superglue and an extra long screw to bridge the gap and hopefully that will hold it all secure. If that does not work I’ll just convert one of my halogens. I’ll let you know how it goes. Marto GS Sd4 2012
