They're too vague in the wet. Like they're always on the edge of grip. They also don't turn into corners very quickly in the dry. I get too much understeer. I just don't trust them. My concerns were proven in my recent small 10mph prang where they just locked up and I went sliding into a concrete lump.

right the plan is to fit a new scorpion zero tyre to the front near side wheeland put it on the back that will mean 2 new tyres on the back and move the rear wheel with the older tyre to nearside front and see what happens.Fingers crossed |

Sorry I didn't see your question earlier.. I The cross climate are much more sure footed in the wet and i had no problem with the recent snow here in Northumberland. Clearly they are a better tyres between the scorpion verde and the cross climate. I had recently done over 1000 miles from Costa del sol to Northumberland with the new set of cross climate. It was a much better drive than those previously done with the scorpion verde. The noise was lower, the steering was spot on and the symptom of slightly veering to the right with the verde completely disappeared. When I bought the car nearly 3 years ago, the back wheels were on the original scorpion zero and the front 2 zero were replaced by a pair of cheap Chinese tyres. I asked Lloyds Carlisle, where I bought the car, to change the front 2 to Michelin and I'd pay for the rear 2. They agreed to change to the scorpion verde set as they said Pirelli are the OEM tyres for the car. I had found the verde quite vague and there was an annoying tendency to veer to the right even though I had the tracking done and rotated them front to back etc. The scorpion verde set had done 34000 miles, the tread were about 4.5-5 mm average but the noise was noticeably increased. When one of them blew at the wall I decided to change to the cross climate set. I am pleased with the cross climate set. They do look soft but time will tell about the wear rate or the claim reduced mpg of the cross climate. |

Thank you. The thing that's putting me off the Michelin is that they are quite pricey compared to my other options. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE |

Yes I know how you feel and I thought the same. To be fair Michelin must have sold their tyres with their "higher" prices or they would have gone under. When I replaced them i had asked for price of the scorpion verde and the cross climate set was about £100 over the verde set I thought £100 for less noise and perhaps less fuel in 3-4 years wasn't so bad after all. |
