FL2 small door handle skin removal?

Hi can anyone help. Need to remove the small door handle skin on my FL2 2009. Can't find a working link in the search area.

If you are referring to the outer handle covers then go to the Powerfuluk website and look under Freelander 2 handles. They do very informative video`s on how to remove or change the covers. If its not that then like YB I`m stumped!

A handle cover then. My GS ones are just a plain black solid plastic.

So many less problems in a GS. Whistle FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I believe the door outer covers are replaceable, the larger of the two can be removed easily as per the powerful UK video, but they don't show how to remove the smaller piece on the drivers side. I think I've seen it mentioned that there is a small torx screw holding it in place.

From memory the small pieces just clip into place. There is no screws holding the covers on. You should be able to get a thin flat bladed screwdriver underneath the cover and carefully lever it off. Good idea to protect the paintwork next to the cover with some tape just in case the screwdriver slips. Thumbs Up

It's only the later models which have changeable skins, earlier models are all one piece.

As pictured, just release forward upper and lower lugs and skin will slide backwards off the handle.

The remaining part is removed using the emergency key on passenger door and to be honest not done the others but I believe you need to pull open the handle whilst releasing two small lugs or otherwise one almighty heave which may end up with broken plastic locating lugs Wink MY15

Thanks for your replies guys. I have a new door skin arriving tomorrow to replace the small worn piece. I will update what happens when I try to remove and hopefully post some pictures to help others.

OK update all done! See photos below. Use a credit card to disengage the clips that hold on the small part of the door handle skin. Thanks for your replies and hope this helps others.
