The cable plugs straight into the plug that goes onto the bulb. Two second process once you cable tie the wire. |

Guys..... I believe due to the headlight bulb being one filament and a shutter controlling the high beam to lower beam it runs the bulb on border with heat within the headlight. I see a post with osram bulbs fitted and like myself I believed I could install slightly brighter bulbs. Unfortunately that had opposite effect and bulb actually exploded inside the headlight assembly. That’s when I started digging more and came across the wiring upgrade. I paid £64 for the two resistive cables to connect to the both headlights. Not £64 each. Headlights are still poor in lighting up. To connect each cable you simply unplug the back off the bulb, connect the new wiring to the bulb and the other end of the cable goes to the original bulb connector side. It’s as simple as that. |

indie told me about this frequent bulb blowing when I went to buy some new buibs from them. Because mine had lasted over 2 years, it wasn't affected |

Britcar have cables at £35 each. They must surely be in series, as a parallel resistance will cause a greater current to flow and potentualy over heat the the wiring. |

Seems an odd solution to me. Increasing the circuit resistance will reduce the current flowing through the bulb and hence it's brightness. Not ideal when the headlights aren't that great to begin with.

Certainly seems like LR are offering an expensive bodge for a problem they themselves created.
