Ho ho ho!
The position with the DS is (in short - there are A LOT of pages on this on the DS forum):
The service is due at 21000 miles or two years.
The 5-year service plan therefore gives you TWO services plus free Adblue top-ups.
BUT most cars are asking for an oil service at 6000 to 10000 miles, and LR are providing a FREE interim oil change under warranty (although some dealers need "persuading" with a copy of the relevant service bulletin).
Early cars get around 12000 miles on a tank of Adblue, MY 17 cars get half that.
Have a look at https://www.discosportforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6469 - for example.
My car was an ex-demo, so I assume lots of short journeys, and it asked for an oil change at around 10000 miles. This was done under warranty. First service done at 20500 miles. Not asked for an oil change since (6500 miles) but I expect it to happen before the next service is due.
A prudent dealer would do the oil change, charge Land Rover as a warranty item if possible, and reset the counter.
Nb, this applies to the Ingenium engine, not the 2.2 fitted to early cars. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.
