All Ka's rust around the filler cap rear wing. I looked at Ka's for my daughters first vehicle, kept seeing the same thing

Agree 100%. Brilliant little car - and I believe made in UK. I've decided to stop being a good example and will now just be a terrible warning..... 2008 TD4HSE - gone but much loved. 2014MY SD4 Metropolis - very much loved. |

Slightly off topic, but when Ford released the Ka, was pronounced "car". Now everyone calls it the K A. When my niece bought one years ago, she told me she had just bought a K A. I thought she meant a Kia ! until she said it was a Ford. Even the Ford dealers get this wrong. Went to look at a Street Ka for the missus years ago. Damn 12 year old Ford salesman looked at me bemused when I said we'd come to look at the Street (car) Ka. I guess it's one of those things that's now in the Psyche of the general public, so it'll remain that way. |

Hi I put this topic up for the dvla side of things, not the ka club.but to be honest the family have had 3 ka from the 1.3 cross flow mod to the 1.3 zetec ,I like the handling and the easy Diy I did fancy the puma engine conversation .so the car I looked at was the 1.6 sport.the ka rust around the petrol cap due to the sponge material around the filler neck,on the rear of the door openning bottom rear.now covers by a bit of sticky back plastic.but the one I dvla had rusting around subframe mounting points, heavy rust on the sills ,front brushs all flashed up on the mot warning points.so it's back to working on the landrovers. |

Apparently the Nissan Navara pickup truck is notorious for breaking in half due to rust in the chassis. I know a guy who runs a vehicle recovery business who sees several a year and I have a friend who has a broken one at the moment. I also saw one in Africa still in use with a broken chassis but that's Africa for you. https://www.parkers.co.uk/vans/news-and-ad...d-chassis/ 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto 5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE |

This shows the declining intellect in society these days. Ka (pronounced similar to car, but with a harsh A and without the R) is an acient Egyptian word meaning the supposed spiritual part of an individual human being or god that survived with the soul after death. So maybe some clever clogs marketing man at Ford thought that the name Ka would appeal to some people on some obscure link to "spiritual" or "soul" - or some other "boll*cks". But the rest of us were hoping that Ford would make an SI model making it the Ford Ka Si - or Kasi (pronounced as you read it) which was at the time a popular slang word for toilet (or for the more intellectual, lavatory). Either way it's easy to see how it is now called the KA. J |
