United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Fuji White

Dave47 - 100E
I remember the wipers well, I used to cruise at 60mph (well actually that was nearly flat out @4000rpm) up and down between Bristol and Darlington most weekends. At that speed the only way of seeing out in the rain was to momentarily lift your right foot, also I remember that the 12v generator did not produce enough power to keep the car going if it was foggy and I went slowly in top gear all the way to Darlington.
AND the optional heater really did make this my coolest car ever, if also a little misty. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

My other favourite was the Citroen XM, big exec cruiser with active suspension, brilliant smooth soft ride until you turned a corner then everything tightened up. BBC even used them with a camera mounted on top for following horse racing around the track. That was in the days when Citroen did all of the innovation and before Peugeot took them over and became boring. BIggest problem with the XM was that the Citroen dealers couldn't handle the complexity (now where have I heard that before?) 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE

Ford GT40. Or I'd even settle for a Ford RS200.

I agree that this is the car that I believe is the coolest ever and would love to own one.
This ambition is somewhat thwarted by
(a) Lack of money
(b) The need to fit some kind of lift mechanism in it so that I could get in and out. (Its not this classic car's fault, I am also now old enough to be a classic)

At one time I believed that by the 21st Century we would all be zooming up and down motorways in low slung rear engine cars, but I was very wrong. We are now using more and more high sided 4x4s on increasingly rubbish roads. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

So there's AAO773A, a 1963 Morris mini minor super deluxe in surf blue and old english white, all pretty standard with the exception of inertia reel belts front and rear, a necessary safety addition for the little ones.

I think ..... to keep Mable original ....... the grille should be chromed ..... not painted. Laughing

Indeed it should, A chrome Morris Mini Minor grille is like hens teeth however, they do not make reproductions as they do with the Austin "wavy" grille.
