Considering it’s Auto Express they’re not too far wrong. Although the DS should be further down the list. Yes, a Lamborghini, but very contentious which one? I’d go for the Countach.

The idea of 'coolest' is subjective - I think the older Subaru Impreza would be worthy of being in the list?

I too had one in the 60's insured by Fire Auto and Marine the fraudulent insurance company set up by Emil Savundra who was pilloried by David Frost live on tv. Notwithstanding, I lost what was probably only £40 or so which was an awful lot of money to a young apprentice on less than £10 per week. Ah yes the good old days hmmm. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

My first car was a 1976 Escort MK2 1.3 2 door ..... ex police car, surprisingly quick!!

guessing it would be worth a fortune now but I lost out when the auction house I tried to sell it through went bust, directors did a runner with all the cash. Big Cry

My coolest car was my 2 litre Ford Capri as used by Doyle and Bodie of CI5 in "The Professionals". At the time I had a pass to a government research centre with CI3 written on it. My young nephews were very impressed and assumed that I worked for the same outfit.

Lol! One of my favourite driving memories was overtaking a 3.0 L Capri Mexico in my aged 998cc mini on a snowy hill in Glasgow one night in the late 70s. All that power on wide rear tyres and he was not going anywhere! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

The car that changed my life the most was my Ford 100E Popular which I bought in 1961. Well I thought it was cool.

The Triumph Dolomite Sprint which I bought in 1981, was the most impressive (for it's time) that I have owned.

Just as an example of how times have changed, my SD4 FL2 has similar acceleration and top speed to the Sprint, that's progress.

My 2nd car was an HA Viva, bought new in 1964, great car in it's day. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Had a loan of a Dolomite sprint for a night, and i’d still rate it as one of the most impressive cars I’ve ever driven! Loved the overdrive on the gear-shift, switching out of overdrive as you put the foot down was a great feeling - I guess that was the flappy paddle of its day! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

also the Lamborghini Miura has to be the coolest of the cool. Thumbs Up
