Have you got access to a lab power supply so that you can test the units outside of the car by feeding various volts in and see what, if any current, is being taken etc. ? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Have you tried the obvious by plugging them in both sides locking and unlocking the car twice? When I fitted mine ages ago I had to lock and unlock the car.

only tried on the passenger door, but did shut/open and lock/unlock several times with the LED in and the orginals, but they only ever worked with the originals in.

As the name implies LEDs are diodes and only conduct when the forward bias voltage is reached which can be about 3volts. depending on the type and on how they are wired up, ie there could be three or four in series plus a limiting resistor. LEDs are not like incandescent bulbs that start glowing at a lower voltage, nothing will show until the forward bias voltage is reached and then they start conducting and glowing. My guess would be that you will need about 12v to get any life out of them. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I do a lot of messing about with electronics and often find that the old style analogue meter is preferable to the newer digital ones. Often you will find that a voltage is varying and it's easy to see what is going on with the needle on a meter whereas with digital you just get a jumble of numbers as the meter tries to sample a moving target. Could be a good Xmas present suggestion for two people who want a cheap present for you too. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
