Morning,

Im due to change tyres soon and wondered what experiences anyone had had with the new AT3 Grabbers? I know reading on here the previous iterations of the tyre proved very loud on road.

I dont do much off roading but am soon to be taking up shooting so muddy fields are soon to become part of it, however I also dont fancy tyres which are super loud when driving around town or to work.

Saturdays Telegraph - Honest John once again said fit CrossClimaes to a FL2. I have them and quiet. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

So after a quick read on the DISCO3 forum, the reviews for the AT3 seem pretty good. Most say the thread is less aggressive than the AT2 which results in a quieter ride. 2010 HSE SD4 in Santorini black

I'm in two minds as to whether to try these or not. They don't seem to have been out long enough for a lot of reviews to come through yet though.

I replaced my worn out Goodyear wranglers with GG at3 around two weeks ago so dont have that much experience.Fancied a change and wanted a little bit more grip off road for shooting&fire wooding, So far i am very pleased with them they have a slight hum but i was expecting more noise tbh.

Im a big fan of GG tyres. I ran AT2 then AT on my Td5 Disco for many years, I found them to be an excellent tyre especially as far as longevity was concerned, 50k + miles easily achievable. I never noticed the noise but then my Disco wasnt the quietest car on the road.
We also have used GG GT tyres on my wife's VW Tiguan. A more road biased tyre and probably very suited to the use you intend for your Freelander. The first set lasted 40K miles and replaced with the same.
I would happily fit any of their tyres to my cars although now that I'm on 17" tyres BF Goodrich AT are an option. I may well give these a try as they are highly recommended. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I also shoot and have had my FL2 in very slippery mud/grass and gloopy stuff and not been stuck using the Michelin tyres. Also wear well and are quiet, taken them around France a couple of times and they are great on motorways as well.

Okay so I got these fitted on Saturday. First impressions are they are fairly quiet, haven't really noticed much noise yet. Nice looking tread pattern aswell! They did well in some rain on Sunday and even better in the snow we've had since, it was like driving on tarmac. I tried to skid it but it was difficult without being stupid! So far so good, just need to let them see some mud now

I fitted CrossClimates about 2 weeks ago. They replaced Wranglers which were down to about 4mm (an irreparable puncture forced the change of all four). The difference in noise level is remarkable, the CrossClimates are so much quieter after the Wranglers. The ride is better as these tyres seem to be more compliant, yet also more grip. Quite surprising really. I am very impressed with them.

My Freelander was in dealer on monday for a service & MOT, & they gave me a Disco sport to use, it had 20" conti's on, & felt very skittish on the wet roads!
