FREELANDER 2 TIMING BELT OR CHAIN

Hi all ,I am looking to buy a 2010 FREELANDER 2 2.2 XS I owned DISCOVERYS for 12 years before the present wife talked me into buying a BMW M3 well 3 speeding fines later I am looking to buy my first FREELANDER 2, 2.2 XS it is a great car with all the toys just one question for you all , HAS IT GOT A TIMING CHAIN OR A TIMING BELT ?? I live in FRANCE and getting an answer to a question out is something everyone should try
If it needs a belt I will bring it back to the U.K. and get it done there

Timing belt with change due at 10 years/150000 miles.

If you are bringing it back to the UK for the job do your homework. Prices can vary considerably, even among LR dealers and Approved workshops! Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

2008 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Izmir Blue

Teecee, this is a PSA engine Peugeot/Citroen and Ford,
so I would have thought having it changed in France would be straight forward and less costly for you.
the guy that's just done mine was trained at a Peugeot dealership.
Just a thought.

Inquired at a couple of normal garages and they were both about Â£800.
The parts themselves aren't too expensive, about Â£200 if you source them yourself.

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Zermatt Silver

both belts, (timing and aux) water pump and crank pulley and new anti freeze earlier this year Â£380 at Durham 4 x 4
