England 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black
Prang.

I had a little prang the other day. Slid into a concrete bollard on a width restriction. I couldn't see the damn thing until it was too late because of being blinded by oncoming headlamp glare. Big Cry
Anyway the outside damage looked superficial. Mantec sump guard dented and a few scrapes.

But as I drove off there was a strange noise and on further investigation, the turbo pipe had been pushed into the aux belt drive pulley.

Car being picked up today for repairs. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE

a good reason for the fitting of the Mantec guard. which I doubt the repair shop can do anything with, but fit a new one.

Good luck

would have been a lot worse without the benefit of Mantec..... ive also noticed that headlamp glare is getting worse as brighter lights are fitted to cars and the number of headlights that are misaligned is shocking !!

knowing how strong those Mantec guards are I reckon its more than paid for itself!

My tank guard was straightened out using a large hydraulic press (think heavy plant workshop not a garage!) so there may be a chance you can get it sorted - Mantec were very helpful in providing dimensions so we could get it back to shape too

S. 2000 Xei 1.8 gone
2004 HSE Td4 Auto, MT's, sump guard, sliderz - gone
2014 GS Man - AT's, Mantec Sump guard and tank guard, split charger in boot, towbar, work in progress...

really ??? such a shame Big Cry

I wonder if that's due to the demise of the Camel Trophy/G4 Challenge combined with the current styling of LR/RR vehicles

Hope all is sorted now.

Just a thought. As Mantec are no longer trading, do you still have the dimensions?

It might be possible for those with the skills to make copies.

There are till Mantec products in the distribution outlets.

Copies ????

Should the company resume trading or be bought out, they will OWN the 'Prior Art'. Prepare to be sued. Rolling Eyes

You could build your own design ..... like this guy did.

Wouldn't run the FL2 without my Mantec ( & underbody protection) and that just emphasises it. Thumbs Up

blacktiger - checkout Uncle Ray (RLD) on the Disco 3 site, he may be able to straighten and powder coat (he might also have a replacement plate).
He took the dings/warps out of my plate and powder coated it (when I got mine secondhand ). FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

Nooo!!!

I waited for them to make something for the Disco after my experience with their kit on the FL2, but had to give up waiting.

The D4 has plenty of other, really decent, after market stuff to choose from, but everything since then is very thin on the ground. The after market people just aren't making it Sad
