Froze this pm Stopping car locking leaving and restarting has no effect.

Any ideas as manual says nothing

I have just got in from a drive home and the satnav was stuck on the splash screen showing the LR logo and the radio didn't work.

restarted the car when the chauffeur dropped me off and a restart sorted it  Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Sadly stopping restarting did nowt, time stands still in mine.

Does removing the DVD disc reboot the system?

nothing to stop you trying it, but i don't think it does

Now then, just want to clarify something on disconnecting battery.

If I read correctly, the handbook stated to remove the earth first, which is contrary to everything I have ever done or been told for decades, as it is unsafe, and you should remove +ve first then earth.

Is there something different with a FL2 or is it a misprint?

Regarding disconnecting the + terminal first. If you catch the other end of the spanner on the cars metalwork while undoing the positive terminal with the earth still connected, you short out the battery. Not to be advised - the results can be dramatic. Never done this myself of course
Disconnect the earth first and you no longer run the risk of a short when undoing the positive terminal. He who dies with the most tools wins!

When I put unsafe, I meant for the cars electrics.

I realise the power of a 12v car battery.

I have seen the effects of a spanner shorting one out. It is somewhat spectacular done as an experiment with an old battery off a vehicle. When the fireworks finally stop it's amazing how well 'welded' the spanner was to the terminals (what there were left of them & the spanner)

Well there is a v simple fix to this one.

Reset the clock on the HiFi hey presto they re sync.

Having spoken to my dealer the screensaver clock etc is run by the stereo not the sat nav, took all of 10 secs to fix

A shame that LR development didnt see the benefit of allowing synchronising from the satellite signal to the clock rather than a manual input, where sat nav is fitted of course. Would be more accurate. One for the future TATA regime?. 07 RRS Java Black

That's no good for us plebs in S and GS models
However, the radios on all models of FL2 could use the RDS CT (clock time) signal transmitted by the BBC (and other broadcasters throughout Europe, at least) to set (and correct) the clock display. After all, they use the RDS PS (programme service) ident to show the station tuned in (and lots of other RDS features like AF, TA, EON and PTY).

I suspect the radios were specced by someone with limited technical knowledge and sourced from the lowest price supplier.... otherwise ALL models would also have had MP3 playback on the CD player and a USB input for media players / MP3 data sources rather than a simple analogue aux-in jack.

These manufacturer-specific radios are all well and good - acting as a deterrent to car radio thieves - but it does limit the ease with which it is possible to customise the audio system installed by us owners. I've a nice Blaupunkt radio with MP3 and USB that is now sitting doing nothing much in the caravan...

Negative should be disconnected first every time, that way if the lead drops on any of the metal engine parts it doesnt damage any electrical components.
