Ref TDY thankfully the organisers posted lots of "don't sit on the walls " signs, and we protected the new field gate from climbers and sitters, seems petty i know but sit 5 people on the top rail and its bent ! I post and wired an 8 metre gap where a car went through a few weeks ago.

I went out for the day as i didn't want to even contemplate the possibilities. Ive had a lousy 6 months with that field , Tour de Yorkshire, Two crashes through the wall, and to cap it all me and my wife were in the bottom , she was safety spotting me while i used a chainsaw to thin out saplings, some thieving low-life druggy jumped over the wall and stole our Stihl brush cutter, £600 !. despite me getting a number of CCTV recordings which show the reg and what happened, crime number from Plod etc..... same old story.

Its almost enough to make me un-retire and go back to work .

Back when I was unwise enough to own a Cherokee I was rather amused by the sticker on the sun visor, which said something like "Take corners carefully. May rollover and kill you"

Your FL2 should, and probably will, prevent you tipping over whilst cornering by limiting your power and applying one of the back brakes to slow you down and increase the radius of the turn.

The Itchypussy Shogun Sport is due on the UK market soon in 2018 - they are already taking orders. It has done very well in other markets where a proper off road capable 4 x 4 is required. Unfortunately the models they are bringing in first will be upmarket models loaded with junk that I would not want including (of course) keyless entry, stop start, electric handbrake - engineering abominations beloved by some - but even so, the list prices start at only £36K. Built on the highly successful L200 pickup platform, odd looking styling but not of course in the same league of pig ugliness as the D5. You have to pay a lot more to get that ugly........

Are you looking for 4x4 car? Find anything with diff lock and low gear

The trouble is a lot of the other 4x4s don't cut the mustard when you get in slippery conditions. A couple of weeks ago we were at a National Trust property and were in the overflow car park which was a rather wet grass field with a slope. The Freelander wasn't fazed at al,l whereas most others there were having great difficulty. A BMW X5 gave up in the end because as soon as it tried going up the slope it was just standing still with the wheels spinning. So I am somewhat reluctant to give up the Freelander that I know works in poor conditions. Remember there are never problems, just new challenges
