Power steering

Wonder whether my ps fluid needs changing. Thought I heard it whine a bit on full lock tonight and the whine seemed to be revs related. 4 and a bit years old, but don't know when it's supposed to be changed. Has been serviced by main dealer and an Indy so far

Could be drivetrain rather than steering?

Its not a service item and will be original oil. Wont harm to change and a year or so ago I did a write up (other exist) and if careful all you need is 1 ltr of the correct oil.

Early model fluid tanks were modified due to filter blockages. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Don't know how drive train can be revs related though. Didn't seem to hear it this morning ?? I meant revs related when you're stood still and not driving

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that on full-lock you can often hear a 'whine' due to the pressure being bled off and that is normal ? FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

You may be correct... just not noticed it before in 4 years. Don't do full lock too often - just up and down the M62 in a straight line - good for the Haldex too !!
