cyberil, I have never had a burning smell from the clutch in normal driving situations. However I have when reversing my caravan in a very tight situation. It didn't take long for the smell to appear either.

Have you had your PTC Heater disconnected yet (or refitted)? because thus caused a burning smell in the cabin. Baltic blue XS - Alpaca Leather - 18" HSE wheels. |

There is a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty on the clutch.Mine occasionally makes a slipping noise always uphill at 2000 revs never been able to get thge dealer to repoduce it so I made vigorous enquiries about clutch warranty and I was told by Landrover it is as I said earlier |

I had an intermittent problem with a car some years ago. The dealer said he would have to see the fault happening and of course it never happened when he was there. I used a video camera to record it and took the tape in for him to see. He called several mechanics round to watch the tape and they eventually fixed the problem. Maybe you could do something similar. Record the rev counter increasing speed but no speed increase on the speedometer. Of course you will hear the engine revving higher. I wouldn't leave it to go out of warranty. waaxh03 Sorry cyberil for diverting of you thread. |

I have this same issue about 2000rpm, I get a slipping clutch for about 300rpm then it recovers, but in the 18 months or so that I have had the car, it has never got worse even when towing. So I am putting it down to a faulty clutch, the dealer I use have confirmed that there had been some cars fitted with inferior clutches and that mine would be covered under warranty.
