According to the manual you have to press the PROG button to turn it on. No mention of it being automatic. ______________________ 2011 Full Fat RR 4.4 TDV8 2012 FL2 SD4 Auto HSE 2013 Kawasaki Versys 650 |

In normal auto setting the blower fan doesn't start running fast until there is enough heat in the engine so avoiding blowing cold air into the cabin, so maybe it needs a manual fan setting to blow air over the ptc , pressing prog would do this, as would turning up the fan speed dial.

I'm getting exactly the same - no prog button but warm air even when the engine is cold (within a couple of minutes). While the heater was disconnected I noticed it blowing cold air as if it "thought" the heater was still working. |

It will be automatic. Whilst the cabin warming up quickly is a nice by-product, it isn't actually why the heater is there. Modern diesels are very "heat efficient" or to put it another way, left to their own devices in the cold weather, they don't warm up .

I thought the aux heater just warms the cabin air that's why its in the same space as the air-con parts, so leading to condensation problems resulting in the recall.
