I think I'm about to have to replace my Haldex pump or the unit, the 'Gearbox Fault Traction reduced' amber warning is appearing most journeys, the light on the drive mode strip go out at the same time.

No point in going for a Haldex or pump change until you get it diagnosed. May just need an oil and filter change. Contact Austen at Bell Engineering (forum sponsor) who specialise in FL2 transmissions. Austen will advise your best options.

I have had the haldex unit oil and filter changed it was showing signs of being blocked and also the ATF changed also showing signs of failure it was very dark in colour both done as a precaution at 65k it was far cheaper the having to repair them |

Had my Haldex serviced at Bell Engineering yesterday. The filter that came out was really gunked up. |

I'm going to book into Land Rover Services in Hull to have the oil changed and filter cleaned. Is it worth getting a diagnostic test done first, it seems fairly obvious what the trouble is going to be.

Make sure they remove the whole assembly (haldex and pump) to do the service. It’s the only way of getting all the muck out. |

Was going to get my Haldex serviced by an Indy at 40000 miles the other month. However, they told me they looked at the colour of the fluid and said it was clear and bright so not really necessary. Might ask them to do it at 50000. |

A bit OT, but a colleague had a similar fault on his 5 year old Evoque. Needed a new Haldex pump. Land Rover dealer charged him about £850. But that did include a tin of Land Rover mints. |
