Thanks - a picture speaks a 1000 words.

Now the debate - pattern or original.......

I only really feel the need for the front, so OE I think.

I bought a set similar to these when I first bought the car in Feb 2013, they are still going strong though I can't find the supplier, they also had online video fitting instructions, they were identical to the LR versions with the steel reinforcements. The nearest I can find are these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-FREEL...1540275177 my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
2012 HSE SD4 In Orkney Grey now gone, best car ever.

Cheers - I actually "bought" a set of these at £39.95 but cancelled as we decided we didn't need them - LoL - now they are £54.95, but in any case they are not genuine (I now realise there are no real discounts on genuine)

They should not be allowed to use the LR part numbers if they are not genuine LR.

I will probably get the Duckworth JLR ones for the front only - we only want to keep the worst of the mud off the doors/steps. And rear ones are more vulnerable to being ripped off I reckon and only protect a small area of the car, and not an area where you are going to get mud transfer to clothes or shoes which for us is the primary reason to get them.

I've watched the fitting videos and I only want to do this once, so not going to roll the dice on some copies - I am sure some are fine, but others are not.

Does anyone have a link to suitable stainless screws - I understand that even at JLR prices, they still provide rotten screws (how can they justify that). There must a market to supply copies that you guarantee are better than OE for less money (Dragons Den here I DON'T come !)
