United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Tonga Green

I use Michelin Latitude Sport on the Freelander 2. Never had chance to use them in snow in the 5 years that I've owned it.

For my Freelander 1, I always fitted Michelin Latitude Tour HP. Been through several heavy winters in the Midlands, Scotland, The Lake District and Northumbria and never had any problems getting through in snowy/icy conditions.

One particular buttock clenching moment that I'll never forget is going down a very icy Honister Pass with HDC engaged. The F1 never slid but just gradually crawled down the slope. There were 4 of us in the car and no-one said a word till we reached the bottom.

Always wondered why Michelin stopped making the Latitude Tour HP. It was a great tyre. Discovery 4 HSE - Aintree Green

Well the tyres have arrived already! Not in a box or anything so I’ve ordered some tyre bags off eBay.

The tread looks very impressive and should prove very effective in the inevitable heavy rain Thumbs Up and even more effective in highly unlikely snowfall Rolling Eyes

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Firenze Red

Just spent the wifes money again and pulled off Ebay a brand new Winter wheels set for her Audi

DUNLOP WINTER SPORT TYRE SIZE IS 225 X 50 X R17 98H and four new Audi 17" rims, Ofset is 3 out from the 19" ones supplied with the car but you can't expect to have everything at £600 delivered.

So that just leave me with a set of immaculate SLK 17" wheels and tyres to move on. Anyone interested, change the spigot ring and they may fit load of other cars. Offset is 37. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
FL2 MY13 TD4 GS Current

Yes. Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme 235/55 R19 will go on within the next couple of weeks for their third winter season.

Winter wheels/tyres now on and summer set cleaned and put away. Moving them around makes you realise how heavy FL2 wheels/tyres are. Out of interest i weighed one at 28.5 kgs Shocked

In a week or so there'll be long queues at the tyre fitters trying to beat the November deadline. driving on the right side

Whatever tyres you fit they must be suitably rated for your car. A friend had a super douper, go very fast Mercedes and he put winter tyres on in when he was temporarily living in Poland but when he came back home the car failed the MOT because the tyres were not speed rated high enough for his car.

Disregard my earlier post.

Getting Nikian Hakka 8 on new 17" rims tomorrow.

Turned out to be cheaper than just the 18" ContiIce tyres.

So now i could use the previous 18" winter rims for some General Grabber AT2's. Smile

Very true. Most FL2 tyres are V rated, but LR are happy to specify H rated winter tyres, and even some T rated, as accessories. These are well within the speed range for most FL2s, but T rated would not be suitable for the SD4, with its top speed of 130 mph. H are rated to 130 and V to 149 mph. T only go up to 118. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.
