Leather seats - Help!

Hi all,

My father has a FL2 GS which came with fabric seats. Manually adjustable and no heat. He has purchased leather seats and door cards which are all installed but the plug on the new leather/memory/heated seats is different to the loom in the car. The car loom has 10(i think) wires and new seats have 17. We seem to be missing the thicker wires anyway. He is not too fussed about having heated working but adjustment is vital obviously. Just plugging them in did nothing. If the configuration was changed on the car for the new module would it be plug and play?

It's a 2008 model and seats from a 2011

Any help is much appreciated

you might have to cut the plugs off and join the colour matching wires which
should let you adjust the seats the thick wires are for the heated part.

Regardless of wiring being there or not in a "GS" (doubtful)....it won't work unless you make mutiple changes in the CCF. MY15

I recently found out that Landrover in their infinite wisdom only use a loom that's suitable for that model and options chosen. There are no redundant parts or wires there to plug things in if they're not on the original spec.
In my case with an HSE SD4 I wanted to fit a reversing camera. I thought it would be a simple plug and play but no! I need to buy extra wiring looms and all sorts of stuff. they don't make things easy.
So, back to your car, I suspect that none of the electrics will work for the higher spec seats. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE

Confused

I swapped out the standard [non electric] cloth interior on my MY11 GS for a full [electric] leather interior and it was all just 'plug n play' for me.

Thumbs Up FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

If your GS is spec'd from build with either Hi-ICE or heated seats then LR use a different main chassis harness p/n which means the spare wiring will be present. The original posters car has neither. The main chassis loom runs from the passengers footwell to the RJB. If your "S, GS" has neither then LR use a
Different loom.
Normal electric seats will work but "Memory" seats will not as the module under the drivers seat needs to be wired into both the CAN and LIN and activated in the CCF. MY15

You could always get the electric leather seats, remove the leather squabs & backs and fit to your existing manual frame.
Then you've still got a leather interior.

That was what I was going to do if the electrics didn't work when I changed over.

Personally I don't really see the point of electric seats, apart from the heated element [no pun].
Once mine are set, they're set and it wouldn't be any hardship for me if I had to adjust manually. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Cheers ronp ,
That sounds a good idea , do you think they would fit , the back one's would be no problem , there is a full interior on ebay for £400, seats door cards , but I would have to be sure they would fit , I feel your idea would work out , cheers again ,regarding these leather seats I'm not bothered about the heated part just the electric adjustment of the seats , can anybody say for definite "yes they will work" .
