Not heard of this before, although its common for elements within the front screen to stop working, so you end up with gaps when the screen is clearing.

Not exactly the same but on a previous Freelander 1 I upgraded to a heated screen and had the screen delivered by courier and when it arrived one of the 2 wires that go into the screen at the bottom to supply power had broken off during transit. I was able to solder the wire back on and and once a windscreen fitter had bonded the screen in I had no further issues with it. You may be able to join the damaged wiring in a similar fashion as long as there is enough of the original wire connected to the screen to work with. You may have to replace the original ribbon with normal heavy duty cable or use a connector block to join the 2 parts or fit a male/female connector to the 2 ends of the cable and use them to join it again. |

How about a claim on your insurance? It would be easy to throw a brick at it and claim it came off an overbridge. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE |

Thanks for replies guys , dont really want to go to the extreme of a replacement screen so will see if sparky at work will have a look and come up with some sort of connection of the ribbon to get it fixed , atleast its only one side of the screen to scrap ice off when weather turns!! 😏👍🏻 |

There are plenty of posts showing how to fix it. Just google “ford heated screen ribbon”. |
