could be the the airbag is faulty, so deactivates, I know the drivers shows on the dash warning light, not sure about passengers though Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |

If it's only on for a few seconds that this is the self check that confirms the lamp is ok as per the info from Topix in the photo below

As said it's the lamp test not an air bag or system test, it only lights up for a short time on start up to prove the lamp works.

I take it you are referring to the "passenger airbag off" indicator by the interior light, it will light up for a few seconds when you first switch on the ignition as a lamp test, it only says airbag off and it shows you that IF you were to switch the airbag off it would be able to tell you.

OK Richard, if I follow your explanation this indicator light will show 'Passanger Airbag Off' as a light test when ignition is switched on, Thereafter it will be permanently lit IF the pax airbag is switched off.

My 2012 Freelander 2 does this as well, i have tried both positions and the warning light beside the interior light show Pass Airbag off then goes out. |
