Freelander has a maximum wading depth of 500mm in still water.

You also have to be aware that cold water can have a bad effect on hot brake rotors and wheel bearing seals. Water can be sucked through the seals if the temperature difference is too large I'm told. If the engine is still running then the shock of water hitting any part of the exhaust system is somewhat lessened by the exhaust gases still passing through. |
