Checked my tyres the other day, noticed the passenger side front and rear are more worn than the drivers side F&R, guessing this is because going round roundabouts and that will wear the left ones down quicker. Question is is it ok to swap the lefts to right, keeping them on the same axle? or will that cause problems? They don't quite need replacing just yet so just trying to drag a bit more life out of them before I replace all 4!

Personally I keep an eye on the tread depth and move the tyres around to balance wear. I just think that even wear will put less strain on the transmission.

However, Land Rover do not recommend this, as you can see from the extracts from the hand book below. (page 175)

REPLACEMENT TYRES Always fit replacement tyres of the same type, and wherever possible, of the same make and tread pattern. The load and speed index ratings on all replacement tyres must be, at least, the same specification as the Original Equipment (OE) see . If in doubt consult your Land Rover Dealer/Authorised Repairer. Do not rotate tyres around the vehicle. If the use of tyres not recommended by Land Rover is unavoidable, ensure that you read, and fully comply with, the tyre manufacturer’s instructions.

Ideally, tyres should be replaced in sets of four. If this is not possible, replace the tyres in pairs (both front or both rear). When tyres are replaced, the wheels should always be re-balanced and alignment checked. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

It’s okay that swap them round, keeping them on the same axle as long as they don’t have a directional tread pattern. If you don’t know what to look for, check on the sidewalls for an arrow with the words 'direction' or 'rotation' on them. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Might it be worth getting your front and rear wheel alignment checked? As far as I can tell, it’s only the toe in front and rear (tracking) that can be adjusted. There doesn’t seem to be any way of adjusting the camber or caster.

I was thinking of getting the tracking and that done, but decided I might aswell wait till I get new tyres. Might try swapping them across the axle then...

If the tyres are on their way out, then yes it makes sense to wait until you’ve replaced them. Some alignment equipment is so sensitive, worn tyres can effect the readings.
